Chris Lacinak

Founder and President

Chris founded AVPreserve in 2006 to empower organizations that want to maximize the usability of their data. The challenges of collecting and preserving information for distribution, education, research, monetization, marketing, and business intelligence — both short-term and long-term — continue to drive Chris and his company forward.

Chris loves working with world-class organizations and running the business of AVPreserve. He finds it extremely gratifying to grow the company with the help of an intelligent, talented team that collaborates, works independently to solve problems, and is moving the preservation field forward.

Chris served for six years as an Adjunct Professor at New York University’s Moving Image Archiving and Preservation Masters Degree program, developing and teaching five courses that included Digital Preservation and Video Preservation.

He sits on the board of the Association of Moving Image Archivists and is active in other relevant and standards forming organizations such as the Audio Engineering Society, Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, and the International Organization for Standardization.
