AVPreserve at IBC

AVPreserve President Chris Lacinak will be jetting off to Amsterdam this week to attend the International Broadcasting Convention. Much like the National Association of Broadcasters convention in the US, IBC is a massive conference and exhibition where thousands of people who create, distribute, or manage media come together to see the newest technologies and hear practitioners speak about their work with digital asset management, metadata for search and distribution, storage, and digital preservation. This will be our second year attending IBC and it has quickly become a must-do on our calendar so we can stay abreast of tools and other resources that help us support our clients better, while also providing a valuable international perspective on the theories and approaches to media preservation and access. And of course we’re looking forward to catching up with our friends and colleagues from PrestoCentre, the EYE Film Institute, VIAA, and more. The Skipjacks are being packed as we write!
